In 1980, as Thornton returned home from his day at the butchery, a glint of inspiration
danced in his eyes. Turning to his wife Jeanne, he exclaimed, “That’s it! I have an idea.
I’m going to draw and design a lamb spit braai that I will then manufacture and sell.”
Jeanne’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she shared in Thornton’s vision. “I’ll design
the logo,” she declared eagerly. And so, with Thornton’s creative vision and Jeanne’s
artistic touch, the foundation of Lambri Spit Braai was laid.
Fast forward to today, and the legacy lives on. The familiar Lambri logo, with its
distinctive features and timeless charm, still bears the essence of Jeanne’s original
design. With Rudi’s digital prowess, the logo was re-imagined in 2021, maintaining the
spirit of its inception while embracing the modern age.
